Floor Tile Calculator
How many floor tiles do I need?
Enter the floor's length and width and the size of one tile, and the calculator returns the number of tiles including 10% for cutting in around the edges and the occasional cracked tile. For floors it is worth allowing the full margin or a touch more, as floor tiles are cut more often to fit doorways, alcoves and pipe boxings.
Order all the tiles together so the batch matches, and keep spares for future repairs. Adhesive and grout quantities come from the coverage figures on their own packaging, not from the tile count.
Frequently asked questions
Is the floor tiles calculator free?
Yes. It is completely free, with no sign-up and nothing to install. It runs entirely in your browser.
How accurate is it?
It gives a reliable estimate for ordering based on standard UK figures, but real quantities vary with ground conditions, wastage and how materials settle. Always add a margin and confirm with your supplier before buying.
